Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some artists can have several thousand ratings)
This artist has a Bayesian average rating of 48.5/100, a mean average of 44.9/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 44.9/100. The standard deviation for this artist is 26.1.

Two stars on the strength of their debut, the remainder of their career the band devolved to be nothing but a pretentious Adam Levine vehicle.
I love their first album 'Songs About Jane' it's a solid worthwhile listen. Their second album is about the same if a little worse. Now they are complete sellouts with not very good music. They were always pop but now they are the most basic music ever.
I used to love Maroon 5, but that love has faded. Why? Because they suck. Kind of hard to like them when they don't make anything particularly good.
For one, they aren't really a band. I care more about the backup vocalists and dancers solo acts tour with than I do the other members of "Adam and the Levines."
In the early days, Adam Levine had some vocal chops and some great stage presence. He still has the stage presence but his voice is just so weak and whiny, because that's all it needs to be. There is too much autotune on their songs now, and a heavy reliance on cheap falsetto hooks.
I like most of Songs About Jane, but every album after that is a collection of hit/miss singles. As they progress, each album seems to have weaker good songs, or a smaller number of good songs.
The Adam Levine vocal vehicle known as Maroon 5.
Levine is a talent but every album is a blatant attempt to make a number 1 radio friendly hit based on the popular music of the time.
This lack of soul, identity, and general humanity makes it hard to like the band. They are basically a machine that throws in radio friendly ideas and shoot out singles. Some are hits and most are misses.
So take them for what they offer. A couple solid pop songs on each album and the talent of Adam Levine. That's about it.

They're magicians, know why? Because they got the magic to make the most boring, shitty and annoiyng music ever, every album of them gets olds in 5minutes, listen to them is like playing Hong Kong 97 from snes... Or even worse...

They used to make actually not bad pop songs, but now they're horrible. They might as well be called Adam Levine and the Maroon 5 because no one knows anyone else in the band and it's not even a real band. Everything since Songs About Jane is basically trash.
Songs about Jane is really good, but everything else shadows it and its all sh-t.

is adam levine a real person? doesn't sound like one.
Did you know Adan Levine wishes he sounded like a guy?

Nothing offensive about these guys... but for a media-anointed 'sexiest man', Adam Levine sure has a weak, thin voice.
