Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 51.8/100, a mean average of 49.0/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 49.0/100. The standard deviation for this album is 21.2.

Esquece completamente o jazz e mergulha no pop/dance-rock para as rádio. Dessa forma assumidos, pelo menos, não engana seu público.
Maps is their last good song
That's all
Fuck man, where to begin...
Lyrically, bad. Way to many yeahs, ohs, and ahs. These are okay as filler but there are songs where they are half the chorus or half the bridge. Too many repeated lines, overdone cliches, and just meaningless phrases. They are so desperate to get the shitty one syllable rhymes that they just ruin a flow, all to get in a word like "far."
Maybe you don't give a shit about lyrics, maybe you focus more on sound/feel, because most of these are just dance tracks anyway (but the slower ones have no excuse imo). Production doesn't seem special, average mainstream pop stuff. The guitars are less prominent than ever. Adam levine's voice ends up sounding pretty bland and lifeless in his lower notes, but those are still preferable to the grating high note and falsetto hooks.
On overexposed it felt like they stopped caring, but now it feels like they don't give a fuck. Their single will be a top 10 hit, so why bother putting in effort for a number 1?
If you subject yourself to it, know that the first half of the album is average, second half is just shit.
V is another 11 song assault on the ears attempting to make every song a number 1 radio hit.
Maps is an awesome song and one of their best songs.
It Was Always You is surprisingly good and shows a little bit of, gasp, heart.
The rest of this sucks. The other singles suck.
It is frustrating because this band seems good enough to make a decent rock record. But it's all just glossy 4 minute radio hits
First listen: It has some good tracks.
Second listen: It's bad.
Third listen: GOD IT'S SO DAMN AWFUL.

The track listing needs to be updated. The song Animals in incorrectly spelled, the real spelling is "Animalsmals"

At this point, referring to Maroon 5 as a band is really just being generous to the rest of the band members, because Maroon 5 is really just Adam Levine’s solo project. It’s easy to tell if you just look at the songwriting credits. Their first two albums, the songs were all written by Adam Levine and Jesse Carmichael (the guitarist). Since “Hands All Over”, Maroon 5 has been taken over by the pop brigade, which is Max Martin (best known for every pop hit of the past 20 years), Dr. Luke, Benny Blanco and Shellback. This group writes just about all the hits for every major pop artist of the past 20 years or so, from Katy Perry to Kelly Clarkson to Pink, if you look up the song credits of that group, it’s amazing. Because of that, Maroon 5 have become a lot more focused on writing radio-ready, synthy pop music, rather than the classic, simple pop music they used to write. This album is very similar to their last one, a couple catchy songs, but generally a pretty uninteresting album, especially lyrically (just take a look at “Unkiss Me”). Levine’s got a great voice, he always has, but now that the pop brigade has taken over Maroon 5, they’ve lost their identity that they had on their first two albums. The songs sound forced, they sound contrived, and because of that, the rest isn’t interesting. If you liked their last two albums, you’ll probably like this one because it’s almost the exact same thing.
To think once I thought Maroon 5 can do something really good.

Fodder for easy-listening Top 40 radio. So basically dentist offices.
