Pop music owned the Pop Star for decades. It ruled the world of the music video, of fashion, and of celebrity. But in time, they became stale, and too comfortable with themselves.

And then came Lady Gaga to drag the Pop Star kicking and screaming into the age of the internet. You'd been able to interact with your favourite artists before her, but never again would it be the same after. She set a new benchmark with iconic hook after iconic hook, backed by equally iconic music videos. Pop Stardom as it would be in the 21st century had arrived.

And then, having grabbed the mantle, she took it further than it had ever been before. A new type of star: sartorial to every degree, boundary-pushing in all directions, social advocate with show-stopping performances. A twisted, sexy, gothic, alien, androgynous, metalicised image, experienced at every possible contact point with her.

With time, she matured. She became a movie star, with movie-hit writing credentials to boot. She toured like no one else has this century. On the back of a mental breakdown, she wrote her sixth studio album, just in time for the world to experience a breakdown in unison as the pandemic hit.

Where she goes next is anyone's guess. The most indellible quality about Lady Gaga is that she doesn't bank on a contrived sense of "ooh what will she do now!". You already know what the expect with her - the trick is that you never quite know just what the end result will be. Not an inch of her product is left unrefined; the package is always full bodied.

Her message of self love and expression are made all the more emotive by her endlessly evolving, endlessly innovative sound that has define synthpop in our lifetime. The wake she has left, meanwhile, may never be filled. Our generation's greatest living Pop-Star-in-their-prime.

I'm so happy this artist is getting traction on the charts I find her indistinguishable from Gorillaz (Yes I've been following the site that long)

Despite throngs of teenage fans and support of LGTBQ groups, the largest segment of the population of music consumers hate the commerciality of her music, PR crafted image, etc. She remains in a search for true music credibility. Well, I'm here to tell you, that Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta is a competent artist. The hate that many have for her is not based in fact. She is a pop singer, singing pop songs which have made her popular. She has succeeded at what she wants to do.

Pop music may be a load of rubbish nowadays, but Lady Gaga is definitely the most listenable.

Better than most other mainstream music.

Entirely tolerable. I'd listen to her anyday over some of the other poppy crap on commercial radio.

Hey, I have to give her credit on her attire, being somewhat original, but her music, not so much buddy, the music vaguely resembles Madonna (i Don't know how to spell her name).

For her style of music she is very good and alot of her singles are pretty good. Alot of filler on her albums but overall deserves more respect.
