Really underrated on this site for such a commercially successful musician. His songs are written for the everyman with a lot of irony and heart. He knew when to stop recording new albums unlike many who record too many albums. I recommend Piano Man, Turnstiles, The Stranger and Strangers in the Attic which is a live release. The rest of his albums have at least a couple of hit songs which leads to a large songbook for his live shows.

A true artist that was always in pursuit of reinventing himself while still keeping an identity
Amazing artist with an incredible number of hits. The big ones (Vienna, Scenes from an Italian Restaurant, etc.) are mandatory listening. Go ahead and give the albums a listen too, there's a surprising number of excellent deep cuts.
