Listen to the lion of this album, the "Astral Weeks" of the 1970s with two epics longer than 10 minutes. Only 7 tracks, but all of them great and quite different to each other, some of them contain the most unique singing you'll ever hear from Van the Man. The fact that they sailed away from Denmark in "Listen to the Lion" only makes the album even more unique and personal to me!

Freak out in a moonage daydream while watching David Bowie's legendary story of the rise and fall of Ziggy Stardust. David Bowie blows our minds with some darn fine songs and highly enchanting arrangements. Soulful, glamourous, exciting and nostalgic, this album proved to give David Bowie his well-deserved status as a star more than any other Bowie album.

Lou Reed transforms into something truly great! While the two first Velvet Underground albums were interesting for different reasons and the two later VU albums were good too, I believe it's here Lou Reed finally unleashed his full potential as songwriter. The glam rock scene fits his style perfectly with a great nostalgic yet modern city life vibe to it.

Ironically, this album was more or less a commercial failure back in the day, though it should have been a #1 record. "Try Again" sounds like it's been lifted from either George Harrison's "All Things Must Pass" or his "Living in the Material World" and that's only one song. Should be illegal for any Beatles fan not to listen to this album!

Nick Drake's pink moon is the place to be, his infinitely beautiful melancholic farewell. Even though it unlike his previous two album contains no gorgeous string arrangements, he can make his guitar sound like an orchestra all by itself. Funny story, I was hugely disappointed by the album the first times I listened to it because I had expected a psychedelic album from the cover art!

Prepare to get slayed by Slade. Not as in the thrash metal Slayer way, but as in the energetic, fun, pure 70s rock 'n' roll way. Noddy Holder delivers some of his best screaming here, to this date he's still an very underrated vocalist. So full of nostalgia!

Close to the edge of how epic music can be! The ultimate album for prog fans, this is as grand and complex as what many acts within this genre have reached for, but never to the same success as Yes. My favourite moment of the whole record is when that hunting church organ enters in the title track.

Cuddle up with this warm Beach Boys album if you need a mess of help to stand alone. Admittedly, it's quite the mess of an album with only 8 tracks and the bluesy "Here She Comes" as one of the least Beach Boys-sounding songs ever, but there's so much heartfelt beauty to find here that The Beach Boys still make it good somehow!

Beatlesque power pop. Not even raspberries are that delicious! Amazing how similar Eric Carmen sounds to Paul McCartney when Macca puts on his rock 'n' roll voice (think "Maybe I'm Amazed", pretty much that voice)!

Not as explicit in its beauty (aka. cheesy!) as other New Age albums (if you choose to put it into that box). There's a mystique present here, not simply because of ritual chanting or other typical tricks, but because of its unique atmosphere where indivual layers of instrumentation never crave too much or too little attention. Spiritual and gentle to the ears, but not at all too syrupy!
