The sound of four men who have tried a lot, but still haven't found what they're looking for. They're still on a spiritual journey to find their way and now they've come to a Joshua tree on a desert. The album is known for starting out with three great singles before it gets "boring", but that's not entirely true. It's on the second side that the album really starts to unfold its atmosphere.

The father figure of 80s pop presents to the world an all solo George Michael album without the other guy. Seems people and himself had enough faith in George Michael as a standalone brand, and there's nothing here that didn't go successfully. Fun dance pop and soulful ballads make up a great 80s album!

Signs of life without Roger Waters. This is Pink Floyd learning to fly all over again with Roger Waters no longer controlling the band. The ambient textures and instrumental journeys are in front once again, all in all a welcome return to the older days of Pink Floyd with especially "The Dark Side of the Moon" coming to mind.

Loco psychedelia-infused punk album. Clowns have due to various movies become the epitome of horror and thanks to that, they couldn't illustrate the music here better. Whatever I choose to point out: the beautiful opening message of "it's better to regret something you have done than to regret something you haven't done" that gets ruined by a disturbing approval of Satan, the endless layers of grim noise and squeaky guitars, or the obscure Thai tune "Kuntz" with its scary manipulated vocals, there's no denying that this is the most insane album I've ever listened to!

On cloud nine with George Harrison. With Jeff Lynne as producer, it's clear that the album was made someplace else only a breath away from heaven. Very produced, very commercial, but also very heavenly and magical. The album contains "When We Was Fab", a nostalgic retrospect of his days with The Beatles during Beatlemania, and "Got My Mind Set on You", his last hit which surprisingly isn't written by himself, but by Rudy Clark.

Rick Astley is never gonna give you up. That's why you're being rick roll'd on the internet over and over. But seriously, being rick roll'd isn't half bad! It's actually pretty fantastic for what it is: adult contemporary assembly line 80s dance-pop...

Now here are some beautiful and grandiose new-age pieces. The title-track I'd describe as the new-age version of Pink Floyd's "The Great Gig in the Sky"! Generally, the title-track is not the only moment here that reminds me of Pink Floyd with a new-age touch.

Prince signs the times with this massive collection of funky tunes. The pace changes between smooth balladry and energetic hot things!

He's bad, he's bad, he's really really bad, but also really good... still pouring out those megahits like there's no tomorrow. It's also the first MJ album with a white Michael on the album cover!

Fueled with diesel and dust... in an 80s way! Big anthems on one side and surprisingly atmospheric songs on the other side.
