Drop by the Souvlaki space station here. It's a wonderfully dreamy place to escape from your worries.

Siamese dream of shoegaze-like guitars, dream pop atmospheres, grungy elements, melancholia, essentially everything that's beautiful and depressing! Remember watching the music video of "Disarm" tons of times. The finest Pumpkins songs as well as a lack of any real lows.

All I've ever wanted is a glittery music box like this! Mariah Carey provides quite a few hits including the beautiful "Hero" and the just as beautiful cover version of "Without You" with one of my favourite female vocal performances ever. Pop music has never sounded this magical before!

Nobody else were doing it quite the same way as The Cranberries, starting from the debut album here. The guitars chime dreamingly, while Dolores O'Riordan's powerful vocals alternate between the seductive and the soul-wrenching intense. The biggest singles, "Dreams" and "Linger", are perhaps less catchy than the follow-up's "Zombie" and "Ode to My Family", but are just as dreamy and atmospheric, if not more!

Less pure techno and more towards... space, actually. In many ways more out than there than their first album (also titled "Orbital"). Groovy and explorative to a great extent. However, if you're like me, the thing that will stick in your mind the most is the flute-like sound in the incredibly ecstatic "Halcyon + On + On".

Far more pleasant than a sabre through the ears, trust me. However, it is also quite trippy, both the euphoric kind and the unnerving kind. More interesting than your average 90s electronica album with quite a few moments that... stick out.

Dream pop exactly as autumnal as the album cover! Her melancholic voice is like leaves drifting aimlessly through the air refusing to ever hit the ground.

A storm in heaven, pretty self-explanatory! Just earbleedingly heavenly shoegaze with close to zero signs of the band's later britpop-influenced style. A blasting star sail of a debut!

Music for the wanderer, a travelling friend for anyone with no concrete destination. U2 don't deliver a collection of songs, but a sound experience. With lots of help from Brian Eno, this is as euphoric and abstract as no U2 album ever before or after!

Modern life may be rubbish, but this album sure isn't! Besides awesome hooks and comedic badass attitude, it has interesting critique of the drones of modern society.
