Red House Painters were an American rock band and one of the most prominent acts of the slowcore (or sadcore) genre in the 1990s. Formed in 1988 in Atlanta and later based in San Francisco, the band was led by singer-songwriter Mark Kozelek.
Their music is characterized by extremely slow tempos, melancholic atmospheres, and introspective lyrics, often focusing on themes of loss and nostalgia.
What a band. Each album is a masterpiece.
Criminally underrated!
To some degree (some might even say criminally) underrated. In all seriousness though, they're one of my favorite finds from this site.
