Unlike the majority of critics, I don't think Oasis were a spent force after their first two albums. They leave behind an excellent, often inspired, if admittedly traditionalist, body of work. That said, their debut was definitely special. No maybe about it.

Ridiculously self-indulgent (those song lengths!), over bloated to an extreme (that compressed sonic attack!), but, but, but... the songs are there (Noel), and the vocal delivery (Liam) is fantastic.
