Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album has a Bayesian average rating of 68.1/100, a mean average of 67.3/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 68.0/100. The standard deviation for this album is 19.1.

For me, this is Oasis’s least interesting album. Not the worst, not the best either. No song is bad, but none are great. I also don’t like the production and mixing — not terrible, but the sound is so weak I always end up turning the volume up. Overall, it just feels flat

Definitely lost a lot of the magic they had in the 90s but there's still some great songs here and I still haven't tired of hearing both the Gallagher boys. Lyla and The Importance of Being Idle are good but my pick is Keep The Dream Alive.

3rd / 4th best Oasis album (Does Masterplan count?) not sure that's saying much as it's leagues below the first 2 LPs.. Best I can say is it's SOLID with no (Little James style) total duds

I know some “classic” Oasis fans who only enjoy their first two albums will kill me for saying this but this is their 3rd best album. The Importance Of Being Idle is a Top 5 Oasis track for me. I also love the whole group collaboration they have on this album. Noel Gallagher still is the primary songwriter who is writing songs like Importance Of Being Idle or Lyla, but his brother Liam Gallagher and others like Gem Archer and Andy Bell get their own songs. Definitely Maybe and Morning Glory are still my two go to Oasis albums, but Don’t Believe The Truth is a close third.

Others will disagree but for me this is Oasis best album barring the classic Definitely Maybe & What's The Story

I'd say time has been good to this one. I'd pretty much given up on Gallagher and co. by the time this came out, having bought the last two but also having falling out of love somewhat by then. I did end up copying this off someone and thinking it was a bit better but there were plenty other music delights around instead. Obviously the magic had started to wane by album 3 but listening again to this, it's enjoyable and sounds like they're trying, tracks are good, it's memorable, it's Oasis, but it's not April 1994, you like it or you don't.

It's a good album; is it cool to hate Oasis on this site or something?

I like The Impoprtance of Being Idle... Otherwise, this is an interesting album, maybe the best of their later work, but not near their 90s peak.
