Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).

Solid chart, and enough to explore too, I like it.
I get that you're going for the "I'm not taking anything too seriously"-schtick, but you're coming off as very "Freddy Got Fingered" '90s (yeah that movie is from 2001, but not with the times).
Your hip hop picks scream "I'm white", but not as much as most white people. Maybe add "white" to your tongue-in-cheeck disclaimer, but I recommend not wearing your biases proudly on your sleeve. But at least it shows self-awareness, now only a willingness to change, unless you're okay with missing a large part of the earth's population's music. Your choice.

not so much a criticism as a reflection of our difference in musical taste. i like a lot of your chart despite its lack of diversity. your right, not a fan of john frusciante. but i do happen to like fionna apple... i think shes fantastic. i fail to see how having NMH in the number one spot is "predictable" just because a number of other people have it in the same position. i truly believe it deserves the number one spot and that opinion cant be swayed by its inclusion in other peoples charts. on the contrary... the fact that such an obscure album can gain the love so many people only makes it more deserving.

Hey, thanks for your comment. Funnily enough, I just updated my chart and some new additions have pushed Iron Maiden just below the 50- for now! Never really clicked with Van Morrison yet. I have Astral Weeks, but it's not one of my favourites. Do you have any other recommendations?

I absolutely love this update to your chart, Kingy! Great to see Selected Ambient Works 85-92 near the top. That album was my late night companion for many years.
Good win against Blackburn after the Fulham debacle. Let's take three points against Bolton tomorrow. Come on you Spurs!!
