Hey, everybody o/
This is the list of albums I've carefully listened and rated in the past year or so (every song, then took their average and weighted average, and rarely added/subtracted a point or two). I usually don't put an album on the list until I've listened to it enough to be certain of its qualities and to understand where on the list I should put it. This is why there are so many Springsteen's albums - he's one of the rare artists I've had a chance to listen to that carefully.
All the suggestion are warmly welcomed. Hope you like the picks and that I gave you some incentive to research more about great music.
(And if not, I didn't care much about you anyways. Ha.)

Might be very subjective, but I consider this to be the greatest album of all time. It has literally every single aspect I expect from such an album: beautiful lyrics, perfect arrangements, has very vibrant harmonies and is filled with honesty and feeling of love and freedom. In my opinion, "Born To Run" is the pinnacle of rock music.

Oh boy! If it's not one of the greatest debut albums of all times, if "Lost in the Flood" isn't one of the saddest and "Blinded by the Light" one of the happiest songs ever, I give up. Sure, it's very incoherent, but the lyrics are just waaay too good for the fact that it was his debut and that he was only 23 when he wrote them.

It has every single thing a true Springsteen fan would want. It has love, grief and struggle; it has prostitutes and family, society and economy; it has bare piano, hardcore guitar riffs and Bruce's voice wailing; it's honest and it's honestly painful. Springsteen wrote this one in the saddest part of his life, in years he was the most disappointed in the world around him. By doing that he both gave us this gem of a record, and also set the standard for a great Springsteen album by which will solid albums like Human Touch and Lucky Town later be disregarded for their campy cheerfulness.

Since I play piano for more than a decade now, Springsteen's unplugged work always had a special place in my heart. If "Blue" is the ultimate record about struggling in relationship, "Nebraska" is the ultimate record about struggling of poor, working class people, about their powerlessness and their undying hope. The fact it was all recorded by Springsteen alone in his home with his cassette-tape player, makes it even more sad and haunting than it already is.

Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).

Very diverse and interesting chart! I love the inclusion of Funeral, Illinois, and Yankee Hotel Foxtrot, which are also among my all-time favorites. Lots of stuff for me to dig into here.

Yup, just as I wrote it. The number of his albums on the list will certainly fall below 10 the moment I start fill all the 100 spots and start cutting albums out. :)
