Hey, everybody o/
This is the list of albums I've carefully listened and rated in the past year or so (every song, then took their average and weighted average, and rarely added/subtracted a point or two). I usually don't put an album on the list until I've listened to it enough to be certain of its qualities and to understand where on the list I should put it. This is why there are so many Springsteen's albums - he's one of the rare artists I've had a chance to listen to that carefully.
All the suggestion are warmly welcomed. Hope you like the picks and that I gave you some incentive to research more about great music.
(And if not, I didn't care much about you anyways. Ha.)

Holy... "To Pimp a Butterfly" and this in the same year?! The best acoustic album of the decade. Sufjan just never ever disappoints. The first album he actually sings about himself and his emotions. All the songs are so painfully sincere and so perfectly fit each other I couldn't imagine album without any of them, or any of them separated as a single. Again, brutally honest. Always amazes me how he manages to say so so much in such a small amount of words. Literally makes music speak for him.

Now, I might not be an expert in rap music (in fact, this is the only rap album I've listened to more than 2 or 3 times), but I feel this is as good as rap and hip hop music gets. Honestly, the way Lamar presents racial issues in U.S.A. - through talking about misuse, institutionalization, prejudices, control of their wealth... I just feel, if THIS album can't raise your social awareness and understanding of racial issues, I don't know what can. And all that without even mentioning how good Kendrick's lyrics and rapping are.

And it's not just Bruce you hear in Lost In The Dream - you hear Dylan, The Cure, The National, Tom Petty... But it still sounds so very fresh and original. It's one of those albums you love, not admire, and one of those that make you immensely happy every time you play it.

It's very interesting I've put this album fairly close to "Highway 61 Revisited" because it makes me easy to show what I mean when I say "Highway" needed some MUSIC. Kristian did every aspect of combining his guitar and songwriting skills perfectly. Oh, what a talent. Surely one of the greatest songwriters of 21st century. All his songs so pleasantly cheerful I can't deny the fact this one might be one of my favorite albums of all times. Criminally underrated on this site.

A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. Crimson a taste in music is not right or wrong its indefinable. Why not have a live album at number one, what is an album?

Very diverse and interesting chart! I love the inclusion of Funeral, Illinois, and Yankee Hotel Foxtrot, which are also among my all-time favorites. Lots of stuff for me to dig into here.
