London-based musician Alfa Mist comes through with a brand new album in 2019 titled Structuralism . I feel that it further improved on the excellent 2017 album Antiphon. Throughout this immensely dense project, Alfa Mist finds himself meandering between saxophone leads and gorgeous piano melodies that just move you. It is calming ,inspiring and sets you in the mood for a great sound experience.
The opener “.44” just transports you into this vastly spacious and beautiful soundscape. The features on this album are perfect for the tone of it, as Kaya Thomas-Dyke on “Falling” and Jordan Rakei on “Door” provide so much soul to the record as well. The lead single “Retainer” sounds fantastic on this album, with its slow-paced drumming and beautiful wind instrumentation that perfectly add to the depth and character of the project itself. Overall, the jazzy landscapes that Alfa Mist is able to give us are beautiful and soulful. This album does not disappoint at all as a result.

Such a totally different chart to many on this site, and I love how highly ranked so many very new albums are on here.
