If an album is in my Top 100 Greatest Music Albums of all time, it will not re-appear in this one. There are not many 50s albums in my collection, so I intend to listen to any suggestions from other users about what might go in my chart.

This man has the most amazing voice. This is 1959 and he is producing a noise like this. The harmonica is superb as well.

There are so many songs on this album that have been part of life as I have grown up. They are just in the background to so many things like TV programmes, parent's parties, radio shows, films and even museums.

Some fantastic songs here as well. I bought a compilation CD with the same cover and a lot of the songs. Wonderful stuff to listen to in the car.

I love this album. I bought my first Monk album after reading a NME obituary in 1982. He sounded great and the album did not disappoint. There was a great picture that went with the article and it was framed and lived on my walls until it got badly damaged around 10 years ago.

The first time I heard her sing Strange Fruit, I was amazed by the emotion in her voice.

This is great jazz. I went through a stage where I thought jazz was so cool. I used to listen to the NME cassettes Night People and Straight No Chaser at the cliffs near Arbroath, while trying to convince myself that my Dad's home made wine was quite nice.
