"Some of my favourite bands drew their inspiration from this album, and it is obvious why. Influence aside, this album is over half an hour of fantastic music. The singles live on to this day as rock hits. Even those who aren't fans of the genre will recognize "When I Come Around" or "Welcome to P..."  [+]  Reply

"The best, most consistent Doors album. I can't understand exactly why they left some of these off their debut, but it worked out for the better of the atmospheres on both sides of the coin."  Reply

"This is a gorgeous record, but the only bad song is - in my eyes - 'Why Worry'. I don't play that song often on my PC, but all the other tracks are great. From the beautiful intro of 'So Far Away' towards the goosebumps-giving outro of 'Brothers In Arms'... it's great. The guitar intro of 'Money ..."  [+]  Reply

"Pure joy. Don't overlook their early work and paint it all as silly pop-music. These boys knew how to construct melody, and we're always adding in beautiful and perfect musical touches. Little riffs, added harmonies, runs of notes, harmonica here, Rickenbacker there. These guys were geniuses, but..."  [+]  Reply

"I remember seeing Win Butler on Colbert saying that he'd like to make people dance with a little tear coming down their face. That pretty much sums up this album, I've never had such a strong urge to dance and cry at the same time as I do listening to this album."  Reply

"Everything here - the singing, the drums, the bass, the guitar, the lyrics, and the music itself can easily contend with anything written in popular music, ever. This album is absurdly underrated, and the fact that it is only 120th overall on this site is a rather large grass stain on the metapho..."  [+]  Reply

"If you don't get why this LP is a rip-roaring, glue-sniffing and game-changing scattergun of a rock 'n roll zinger you are either a) deaf, b) boring, c) Noel Edmonds/Tony Blackburn or some washed up tit, d) into ELP or e) dead."  Reply

"Clocking in at around 67 minutes, Car Seat Headrest's Teens of Denial isn't the kind of album you're likely to fully appreciate in one sitting. Too bad for you, because these songs will eventually demand your attention. Once you realize TOD damn well refuses to sit anywhere but the top of your ro..."  [+]  Reply

""Mingus Ah Um" is, in my opinion, the ideal album to discover the giant genius Charles Mingus. Those who do not like jazz should start with this album, it contains all the pleasant elements of jazz. This record dates from 1959, and yet, the quality of the recording is superb. This album is one of..."  [+]  Reply
