88.00 Great album for when your mind wants to drift. Puts me in a serene happy place. It just takes you along for the ride. One thing I've found with Elbow is that when in the mood it's total perfection. Serenity now. 11/24 [First added to this chart: 07/06/2021]

84.375* Atmospheric prog metal from Iceland. What more needs be said. Many layers to it. Just keeps getting better with repeated listens 12/25 [First added to this chart: 07/06/2021]

80.45* No musical over complications. Closest thing they've done to a classic/stoner/groove metal sound. Even verging on a mild doom vibe at times. My favorite Mastodon album. Was also the first of their's I got. Prefer it over their earlier one's. 03/25 [First added to this chart: 07/06/2021]

75.785* At first I thought this was gonna be just another stock standard metal album. But the subtle differences in the tracks actually give them really good variance and keeps it interesting. Way better than expected and is growing on me nicely. 09/25 [First added to this chart: 02/27/2024]

75.29 Great vocalist. Great guitarist. First song (title track) is an absolute cracker. However, even though there are a few other decent tracks, most songs seem to lack that certain hook to reel you in. It's way to long an album, for when listening to in one sitting, by halfway you've become bored due to the difference of song structure and sound being slim. 03/24 [First added to this chart: 07/06/2021]

75.00 Good album to listen to when you're in that mellow & chill mood. There are touches of World music throughout but I would put this more into a serene tranquil rock category. Enjoyable album. [First added to this chart: 02/19/2022]

They made a TV series on the making of this where they traveled to 8 different recording studios across the States and tapped into the vibes of the place when writing and recording a song in each one. I haven't seen it. I probably never will. I do always seem to underestimate the Foo Fighters. They are decent musicians and they're skilled in their song writing hence why they're as successful as they are. It was in the first half of this I thought how good they were with the songs having a classic rock sound of days gone by. But then by the second half I realized why I don't give the Foo's overly adorant praise. The songs are still good but I think it's Dave Grohl's vocals that don't do it for me. By half way of most of their albums, this included, you slightly feel like you've had enough. They're quite a conundrum of a band in trying to establish how good I actually think they are. A conundrum I say. 08/25 [First added to this chart: 09/18/2025]

73.00 I think the praise and accolades that came with this when it was released were a bit overrated. The tracks have the same tone pretty much throughout. Individually the songs are good but when listened to as a whole, it has a very similar feel. Good noise for a 2 piece though. [First added to this chart: 07/06/2021]
