While this list clearly has an intelligent techno bias, it recognises some really fantastic, groundbreaking albums of the era. Good to see LFO's classic in there and the rarely mentioned Reload.

Even if I do not know most of the albums on this list and had never heard of many, this list is highly refreshing vis-à-vis the great majority of professional lists. Firstly, there is very little stereotyping, and the choices show considerably variety, but from the albums I am familiar with there is not much obscurity for the sake of obscurity.

The list is not as good as their 1970s and 1980s lists because there are fewer notes, but taken together they are the most interesting lists I have read for a “recognised” source. Moreover, although not nearly so well-written as Joe S. Harrington or even David Keenan, the lists do quote from highly valuable sources in modern musicians and their experiences with the chosen albums.
