I haven't much to say about this, just that as the years have gone one, I've appreciated the White Album much much more. I don't really dig some of the songs in this, but as I've grown up I've defended more and more really long albums (or media in general) that try a lot of different things, and while it doesn't stick the landing in most of it, it has a lot of artistic merit. As a whole, I think this is The Beatles' most artistically integrate record.

"Back In the U.S.S.R.", "Dear Prudence", "Glass Onion", "Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da", "Bungalow Bill", "While My Guitar Gently Sleeps", "Happiness is a Warm Gun", "Blackbird", "Julia", "Sexy Sadie", "Helter Skelter", "Revolution 1", "Cry Baby Cry", must I go on? And yes, I unironically enjoy "Revolution 9".

I'll die on this hill. As I've said on spot #10, the documentary really made me revalue Let It Be, and specifically, "Let It Be... Naked", as, indeed, it's so much closer to their original vision and concept. The tracklist on the original is... bad... but the re-ordered tracklist in here goes so strong. Also, it doesn't include some of the weakest songs in the original and instead incorporates "Don't Let Me Down" (top 5 Beatles songs, maybe). I do miss some of the "recorded voice" intros in "Get Back" and "Two of Us", though I agree they don't really contribute a lot. I also think "The Long and Winding Road" with the orchestra is really really good, though this stripped down version is also pretty beautiful. It may be that this album isn't as risky as all of their recent albums up to that point, but I think it's pretty amazing having the band "return to their roots" after having experimenting very radically for some albums. Their style is much more mature and overall, it's just a pretty fun album to listen to. I really love songs like "I've Got a Feeling"or "One After 909". What else to say? Obviously "Across the Universe" and "Let It Be" are fantastic, but so is the rest of the album. [First added to this chart: 07/24/2022]

I really love Rubber Soul. I think it's the Beatles early period peak. The songwriting just gets much much better than their earlier material. "Drive My Car", "Norwegian Wood", "Girl", "In My Life". I really like to put on this record as it is pretty easy-going and has a lot of bangers. [First added to this chart: 07/24/2022]

The underappreciated little brother of Sgt. Pepper, and I really do think this is a much more cohesive album. It also has the "concept album" thing going on (though not as "strongly" as Sgt. Pepper) but the tracklist as a whole is much more appealing to me. Any band would die to have a consecutive run as strong as "I Am the Walrus", "Hello, Goodbye", "Strawberry Fields Forever" and "Penny Lane". [First added to this chart: 07/24/2022]

Most overrated album of all time. I also get it's importance in music history, but I think most of the songs are very low tier and the album just gets pushed up because of its "music relevance" but I really think at this time people are just very afraid of admitting it's not really thaaat good. Still, I do get behind the idea that "A Day In The Life" is one of the best songs ever recorded in history. If anything, we have this album to thank for the existence of much better and realized "concept albums". [First added to this chart: 07/24/2022]

I rarely include compilation albums, but there are so many Beatles singles that are so important to their career that this really does stand on its own. So so many classics ranging from all of their years together. "She Loves You" is such a great classic, "Day Tripper", "Lady Madonna", "Hey Jude", etc. I wouldn't say everything in here is great, but I would say the best moments in this really outshine most of their records as a whole. I mean, yeah, I get the historic value this album has, and some of the songs are amazing. "Taxman", "Eleanor Rigby", "I'm Only Sleeping", "Yellow Submarine", "Tomorrow Never Knows", but I really think it has way too many songs and I can't get behind many of them, but as of lately I've been listening to it much more. I guess I really like this because I got the movie as a child and really liked it. Also, it was one of my first CD's and played it over and over again. I don't think many of the songs are great, but it's a nice background album. [First added to this chart: 07/24/2022]

The recently released "Get Back" documentary really made me appreciate this much much more. I can really get behind the idea of returning to their roots and creating a much more classic rock record. I know this was recorded before Abbey Road, but still, this being their last record makes it more like their discography has this "beginning" and "end" cycle going on, but... more about this album on the third spot.
