Top 40 Greatest Music Albums by kvsmz Unknown

Very Radiohead biased. What can I say I love them. Also a lot of 60's-80's holes... I need to expand my collection. Also, this is a personal favorites list as opposed to a "Greatest Ever" list. For example, my ranking of Green Day's "Dookie" at #3.

Love that this site has this at the overall #1. Every track on this album is perfect. The horror via song called "Climbing Up the Wall," the anthem of alienation "Paranoid Android," the inside joke that turned into a hit "Karma Police," everything. Even the robotic poem "Fitter Happier" has its place. There's a moment on "Exit Music(For a Film)" that climaxes from the buildup of slow, beautiful misery to Thom Yorke's voice exploding at you ("...and now, we are one...") as if the circus came to Chernobyl. That second of a song always reminds me of the true power of music. [First added to this chart: 03/31/2013]

Like I said, this list is made by a Radiohead fanboy. But anyway, it's always a toss up for this one and OK Computer for my favorite by them, and by anyone for that matter. I think OK Computer has a better collection of songs, but Amnesiac as a whole just has some sort of magical edge to it. I Might be Wrong, though (see what I did there). Love the grunge/psychedelic mash up of this album. Few can sing like Shannon Hoon. "Deserted" makes me wanna bust out dancing, "Change" makes me wanna break out in tears. [First added to this chart: 03/31/2013]

Everything Eminem is, and wants to be today. It's a shame how bad his music got, but this is definitely one of the greatest hip-hop albums of all time. I remember heavily listening to this album back when I was addicted to World of Warcraft and never felt any more white and suburban in my life. [First added to this chart: 03/31/2013]

Yeah more Radiohead sorry about that. Their most political album here with a fantastic collection of songs all across the flavors. Some cool lyrics from this album, namely "Myxomatosis." Some say it's too long an album but when all the songs are that good I don't think there's any reason to complain. [First added to this chart: 03/31/2013]

The Nevermind description is one of the best and most accurate things I've seen. Also he was one of a kind songwriter, to some whining young man, but to those who understand the world like he does, a hero.
