Much like the Stones' previous output "Aftermath", the US version is far superior to the UK release, which isn't featured on this website. Leaving off "Let's Spend the Night Together" and "Ruby Tuesday" is a big miss. US version gets a 7/10, UK edition is more like a 6.

This is an odd album in the stones cannon. After the excellent aftermath this record comes as bit of a disappointment. The weird thing is that there's nothing bad on here, it's just good all the way through. That's it's problem. It's so consistently good that nothing really stands out. Yesterday's papers is the nearest the album comes to a bona fide stones classic but everything else is all, well, sort of good. It doesn't really have an identity, like it's not quite sure what it wants to be. It's still a good album, but hardly essential for casual fans. (Edited)
Brilliant album with many interesting tracks. To any Kinks fan who's wondering how to get into Rolling Stones as smoothly as possible: this is where you start.
Favorite tracks (UK and US versions combined): Ruby Tuesday, Yesterday's Papers, Back Street Girl, Connection. (Edited)
This era of the Stones is by far my favorite, Out of Our Heads thru Beggars Banquet. This one falls smack in the middle, which awesome pop and psychedelic songs to brighten your day
Really cool album. In particular, "Cool, Calm and Collected" and "Something Happened to Me Yesterday" are deliciously quirky. Of course the US version, with the famous two-sided single, is preferable though.
