More 1995 albums:
- A Northern Soul by The Verve (nr 26 on the overall BEA top chart of 1995): Like nearly everybody else I very much like Urban Hymns but they tend to whine a bit on their other albums and certainly also on this one.
- Symbolic by Death (Metal) (nr 27): prog death metal: aaargh!! (and I did listen to it)
- Stanley Road by Paul Weller (nr 28 ): although I like his records dating from the Jam better and a bit less his soul influence records like this one, I really liked Stanley Road also and especially the longer jams like on Whirlpools' End. So definitely a good one.
- Trace by Son Volt (nr 31): interesting this race after Uncle Tupelo between Jeff Tweedy (Wilco) with A.M. and Jay Farrar (Son Volt) with this album. And I must admit: here Jay Farrar but the thing is: this is Son Volt's best album (as far as I can judge) and A.M was Wilco's weakest so on Longevity Tweedy certainly wins. But this album by Son Volt is definitely a worthy addition to my collection.
- Outside by David Bowie (nr 32): not the best Bowie but certainly not bad and better than I expected with the title track and Heart's Filthy Lesson as the standouts and a special mention for I'm Deranged which would fit nicely between his latter albums like Earthling.
- Alice In Chains by Alice In Chains (nr 33): I fairly liked Brush Away, but the rest is just sludge metal at it worst for me: again: I'm not a fan of the band.

The next album to listen to is One Hot Minute by the Peppers.

And more 1995 albums:
- One Hot Minute by Red Hot Chili Peppers (nr 34 on the overall BEA top chart of 1995): I think I already stated this a few times: I'm a fan of the latter albums of this band and not at all of the first ones and I consider this one still to be one of the second category although there are a few hints to the next stage as in a few of the slower songs like the title track. But overall to me this is not one I would put in my personal top chart of the year.
- Soup by Blind Melon (nr 35): to me their self-titled debut is one of the worst album I ever spent money on and this album is maybe slightly better but it still annoys me, both on the singing as on the songs.
- Lifestylez Ov Da Poor & Dangerous by Big L (nr 36): another bad rap album to me.
- Tri Repetae by Autechre (nr 37): a bit too many bleeps without good songs to me.
- Ben Folds Five by Ben Folds Five (nr 40) in these listening sessions I developed a bit of a soft spot for the latter albums of Ben Folds (Five) but I don't know about this first of them: I don't really like it. I don't really don't know what it is because the piano playing really rocks and is in many places very original but I think it is because the music is a bit too theatrical and while in the latter albums they seem to succeed in turning this into an advantage, I don't think this is (yet) the case on this one. So for the moment it's a no for this album.

The next album I will listen to is the self titled POTUSA.

Nice weather and mainly listening to 2017 albums so here are only a few additions to the 1995 listening basket:
- The Presidents Of The United States Of ...Of America (nr ): I remember having a bit of a love/hate relation with the many singles this band issued from this CD in Belgium. The songs are certainly catchy but do feel a little bubblegum but Dune Buggy is still good while Peaches sounds as silly as it did 20 years ago. So in general not an album I'd put in my personal top chart.
- Elastica by Elastica (nr 42) sounds a bit like like Garbage but with better songs. Also this band had a number of "hits" in Belgium and overall this album contains just damn good rock songs (sorry I'm also watching the new Twin Peaks with rising annoyment and l'm looking back with fine memories to the first series).

The next album to listen to is Tomorrow The Green Grass by The Jayhawks.

Oooh. I LOVE that album. Will be curious to see what u think. And yeah, Elastica rock. Totally indebted to Wire but a great Indie pop band for that first album. another one that's good for the car.

I'm going fairly slow through 1995 because of the good weather and the fact that I'm listening to a lot of new 2017 albums:
- Tomorrow The Green Grass by The Jayhawks (nr 43 on the overall BEA top chart of 1995): the harmonics of the Jayhawks are again very good and especially on the first three tracks this also results in very good songs but after this trio the quality of the music wears down a bit. But still good enough to include this album in my personal top chart of 1995.
- 94 Diskont by Oval (nr 44): just bleeps which stay way under my radar.
- Tindersticks 2 by Tindersticks (nr 45): The first album of The Tindersticks was a must-listen and must-have and at some point in my life I really liked them but in hindsight it's a bit underwhelming just because of the fairly sparse instrumentation in combination with that dry and low voice of Stuart Staples. So I must admit I lost a bit sight of them as far as their other albums were concerned. And boy was I surprised by this gem of a second album. In contradiction to the first album the instrumentation (mostly violin and piano) on this one is lush and inventive and sometimes even close to bombastic (Talk To Me) but it's absolutely beautiful and also makes the singing of Stuart Staples more dramatic and haunting. It's a long album but not boring at all and in other words a real discovery!

The next album to listen to is Pygmalion by Slowdive.

I'll certainly have a good listen to it Tilly but first I'm listening to new 2017 albums recommended by Pitchfork: Kevin Morby (very good), The Drums (not very good) and Palm (still doubting) ๐Ÿ˜‰

And now a fairly large number of 1995 albums I listened to (or sometimes skipped a bit):
- Pygmalion by Slowdive (nr 46 on the overall BEA top chart of 1995): sorry Tilly but I really don't like this album because to me it's only atmosphere and no songs (and I need a bit of the latter as well).
- Jesus Freak by dc Talk (nr 47): sometimes it's not even too bad but I suppose the message is still more important than the songs
- Above by Mad Season (nr 48 ): not my style of grunge at all
- HIStory: Past, Present and Future, Book I by Michael Jackson (nr 49): I only listened to the new second part of the album and in fact it's not too bad although Michael sounds very bitter after what he's been through. But overall I only like Thriller.
- Daydream by Mariah Carey (nr 50): this is really bad
- Brown Sugar by D'Angelo (nr 51): one of the tracks says it all: (too) Smooth.
- Made In Heaven by Queen (nr 52): this is about the worst Queen album: bombastic and no good songs
- Slaughter Of The Soul by At The Gates (nr 53): I'm not a real fan of deathmetal but some of the tracks on this album like Unto Others are actually quite good. Although: overall not really my thing.

The next album to listen to is the first of The Chemical Brothers.

I hear that. I love atmospheric albums. It's been a long time since I've queued it up. might do so today as I water my garden. (I had no friction' idea how much work a garden is! What have I signed up to?! lol)

Peace, brother!
