Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album has a Bayesian average rating of 71.6/100, a mean average of 70.2/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 71.4/100. The standard deviation for this album is 19.8.

Whilst the CCM affiliation is valid, a closer inspection lyrically reveals commentary on racism, isolation and violence among other on point topics which is pretty impressive

It was way ahead of it's time w/ the pre-nu-metal sound mixing the heavy guitars w/ the hip hop sounds and emo vocal melodies years before linkin park and limp bizkit.

An awesome album with an amazing group of people, love the generations that they started with Newsboys and TobyMac.

Can you believe this is the same band that five years earlier made "Nu Thang?" The two are as different as red and blue.

This has a few of my favorite Christian songs. Easily one of the better albums of the genre. This classic is a natural blend of alternative rock, slight indie, a little hip-hop, some gospel, and bongo drums. Not to mention, the lyrics are a vast improvement.

This album effectively combines rock, rap, R&B, gospel, and pop music along with faith based lyrics to create a classic album. It is considered a landmark album in the Contemporary Christian Music scene.

Proved blatantly Christian music doesn't have to suck.
