and at risk of seeming to be spamming this thread with 4 (!!!) consecutive posts, I do wanna shout out DommeDamian's inclusion of Nails, and Burzum! Especially glad to see some more Grind classics represented on these lists.
Okay and I think that is the last post for now _________________ -Ryan
i: I may have to switch out the Megadeth album with Peace Sells and the Death album with Leprosy,Human or even Scream Bloody Gore. I think Death's ENTIRE discog is pretty much perfect.
ii: I'll have some Kyuss and Monster Magnet coming up in the next round. Both those bands were huge to me in the 90s.
Good next 10 entries. None are in my top 100, although when seeing that Arise cover art I am instantly thinking "Shouldn't that be in there somewhere?". _________________ -Ryan
Most of you have already seen my brand new no bs assembled in an hour metal chart. I'm currently out of the country (expect to see more of me by the end of the week), but here's a quick list of albums/bands (one per artist) which I'd consider essential and which could potentially feature on my top 100 overall chart. Feel free to comment, compliment, bash, destroy, adore these picks - I'll make sure to return the favor 😁
Great lists, had a lot of fun reading them. Always love the completely different approaches and tastes like on those DommeDamian or AfterHours lists. Interesting to see different definitions of metal - I don't mind the inclusion of hard rock at all (like some other less forgiving souls Gowi don't be mean), though I personally have a very strict definition of metal. Even Tool and Alice in Chains are edge cases for me, though I did include them in the end.
It does seem that Rust in Peace, The Mantle, various Death and Metallica albums dominate the lists, which is fine. Merc you shouldn't lose sleep over not liking RiP as much as other users - I remember the phases where I thought I grew up, moved on and didn't like it that much anymore 😁 Silly. _________________ Overall chart Fake overall chart
