Let It Be (1970) by The Beatles

Let It Be (1984) by The Replacements

Two classics....

I'll be honest. it's hard to pick a "winner" here but I think that The Beatles just have it. they are both quality albums with The Replacements just falling short of a being classic album. I think that the Beatles is.

The Beatles has some great tracks on it. Across The Universe, Let It Me, the arrangement of Maggie Mae is great. I Me Mine and For You Blue are very good tracks and then you have The Long And Winding Road (One of my favourite Beatles songs) and Get Back.

Not particularly familiar with the film but the album stands on it's own.

With regards to The Replacements, I loved this album when it came out and still do although, as mentioned previously, I feel that it is one or two track shy of being a classic album for me but I still love it.

The previous two albums had been good but not great, this was Paul Westerberg's peak of his career although I do love a couple of his solo albums.

They were never quite punk and never quite rock but fell in that gap between the two occupied by others like R.E.M, The Wipers and the many Bob Mould fronted projects. A seriously good album

Another interesting factoid. Some great albums here. I might well use a few of these to do some comparative comments.

There's A Riot Goin' On (1971) by Sly & The Family Stone

There's A Riot Going On (2018) by Yo La Tengo

Yo La Tengo paid homage to Sly & The Family Stone's classic album but put the "g" in Going, so it's not a perfect match.

Still a couple of great albums though and not a match that had occurred to me. Nice shout

Juju (1965) by Wayne Shorter

Juju (1981) by Siouxsie And The Banshees

I don't think Juju would be on too many bingo cards. Both excellent LPs by the way

Iโ€™m only aware of the blur album. II. Do you have any thoughts about the other albums here.

The self titled album looks like it could be a bit of heavy rock
