"Elliott Smith's work has always been deeply personal. Even at his most pop influenced, Elliott was never writing for anyone other than himself. In the case of Roman Candle, he never even intended for anyone other than himself to hear his art. This is unexpected the start of Smith's career of mela..."  [+]  Reply

"This record struggles with its brilliance, a more brilliant record I'm not sure there is, I never tire of it, I know all the words, my friends know all the words. Like some people know all the bits to The Sound Of Music, we know all the bits to Absolutely Free."  Reply

"The first half of this album is absolute dynamite. Unfortunately it really drops off with the last 6 tracks, specifically the two shortest tracks Renholder and Over which don't really offer anything. 3 Libras is a beautiful beautiful song, it will really speak to anyone who's been in the position..."  [+]  Reply

"A psychedelic album which is full energy! Superb musicianship from the off, keys and lead guitar continually interchanging. The drums and bass carve out the tight grooves throughout the album. Love the organ lead on the title track and the lead guitar is soooo psychedelic!"  Reply

"Synthesizing poetic free-form lyrics and emotionally intense vocals, Patti Smith reinvented the unstable relationship that exists between life and art in the spirit of Janis Joplin. Her engaging and unique personality is probably best evoked in the quasi-religious elegy, 'Pissing In The River', u..."  [+]  Reply

"Possibly one of the most under-rated LPs of the last 10 years. Just as Broadcast found their sound - halfway between the Young Marble Giants and Nico - poor Trish died of pnemonia... a terrible, terrible loss. Tender Buttons will serve as their epitaph, but what a fitting, beautiful and mesmerisi..."  [+]  Reply

"The first country album I ever listened to. I love the sound and the passion in it. Sturgill Simpson writes a beautiful letter to his newborn son. It is a brilliant welcome to the world with messages to people of all ages about the world we live in and the best ways to fully experience life. I lo..."  [+]  Reply
