"A very minimalist album that does shine in places but also struggles to maintain my attention for the full run time. It has moments where it is really psychedelic and you end up getting lost in these crazy beats and rhythms which is exactly what the artist wants you to do. This is really helped b..."  [+]  Reply

"Highly promising debut album, there are some instances where he's given more than he can handle, but that's always a danger when going all out on diversity. His acrobatics moving so effortlessly across different styles are nothing short of spectacular. Anyone can find something appealing here. If..."  [+]  Reply

"McCartney's second best behind Ram. Not a bad song here, and most are quite exceptional. Best tracks are Tug of War, Take it Away, Here Today (best song off the album), Ballroom Dancing, The Pound is Sinking and Dress Me Up as a Robber. Proof that McCartney's 80s career wasn't a complete waste."  [+]  Reply

"Paramore have properly grown up and flourished with After Laughter; it's thoroughly well developed, brilliantly well made and have numerous great songs on it. The neo-New Wave sound is absolutely stellar; you can pick out the hints of bands like Blondie and The Cars all over the place, but its fr..."  [+]  Reply

"Defining album (Along with Rumours) of its time. Hard to explain to those who weren't around, but this was one of those "must have" records. Still dig it - especially the last track."  Reply

"Well, the first (and my favorite) great quintet. Coltrane like hard learner of freedom in harmonies. Chambers, Garland and Joe Jones, the best rhythm section of history of jazz. Davis lyrical, masterful. What can I say?"  Reply
