"The family jewels has plenty of duds and honestly wouldn't suffer if a few songs like "I am a robot" were cut. Despite this there is a lot to love on here. The fusion of baroque and electro pop creates a memorable sound. Marina's voice and lyricism do a good job creating personality." Reply
"honestly I was impressed by this album, I thought that after Torches they would just fade out. And even though this album has no NO.1 single like "Pumped of Kicks", it might be even more consistent, creative, and more daring album. Enjoyable pop for all that it matters." Reply

It's a step in the direction of "Hope" as a opposed to "Cope," which while I prefer the variety of sounds, emotions and dynamics captured in Mean Everything To Nothing and Simple Math, it's still a very interesting album and I also think that following in the quieter direction ..."
