"Her best record by far in my opinion, Adele takes a few risks that really pay off, especially with the more jazz influenced sounds. Her songwriting skills have really sharpened on here too, with an album that sounds a lot less formulaic than perhaps what I was expecting. Definitely an improvement..."  [+]  Reply

"I want to love this. It was a great comeback story. It's just that there's nothing standout, too much synthesized sound, and it's pretty lightweight. Let's Get It On tries the same thing and hits the mark - stick to that."  Reply

""Fanmail" threw chlli front-and-center the most. It worked well. "no scrubs" and "unpretty" are the standouts, but other strong songs include the attitude of "silly ho", the faux-romance of the near-porn "i'm good at being bad", "shout", the personal exorcism of "dear lie" and "love sick". Of cou..."  [+]  Reply

"They're on an adventure. The young scrappy kid is now traversing mountains, battling trolls, stoping at taverns and generally moving from A to B if you want it painfully simple. This was all starting from 'A Thousand Suns' where the group sounded like they had ambitions of recording THE NEXT DARK..."  [+]  Reply

"My first JSBE album. I bought it on a whim, thinking they were a blues band. What a silly lad I was. This album blew me away. Dirty, dirty, dirty rock and roll. So much swagger, so much attitude, so much power from a three-piece. Front to back, this album smokes."  Reply

"Dependable as ever . In more than 30 years now , this band has not released a bad album , Their newest output is full of gut-punching riffs and emotional vocals . Negative point : Five years after ``Ohms`` we only get 43 minutes of music ."  Reply
