I don't hate Britney Spears. I guess you could say I'm envious of her money, but not her talent. She's a bubble-gum pop princess who has had some cute tunes written for her, and a sexpot who has had some funky tunes written for her. Belongs in a dance club. There's no depth or meaning - just a beat and an image.
One of the most amazing performers ever. People are fooled by a smaller voice and some sexy outfits, shame because they're missing out! She has a lovely, subtle voice that she can actually do a lot with, screaming isn't all there is to singing, people. She wrote many of the tracks on In The Zone and Britney and was executive producer on Blackout. It's a shame the media tells people to dislike her because she is severely underrated as an artist. If only the public had the same respect for her that the industry does.

She is what she is - she never purported to be a Diva ala Celine Dion. She's a pop princess. Taken on those terms she's pretty good at what she does. Is there a lot of weight to be placed on her music? No. Can she make music that puts bodies on the dance floor? Yes.

Britney is vilified by society and music critics but come on guys, some of her singles are some of the best and most significant in pop music of her time period. Her sound was incredibly influential for years to come. Sure she didn't write her own songs (hard to believe Max Martin was a competent songwriter at one point) and probably lip sync'ed her way through most of her career. Doesn't matter, many of her songs are great, in some part due to her unique delivery. She is what I would consider a "pure" pop artist. She has continued to have a successful career despite everyone trying to take her down because she is relevant and significant. Oh, and leave Britney alone.
I mean, am I really overlooking anything with Brittney Spears? I mean, we lent Justin Timberlake some critical credence.
