"A typical Roots release - conscientious lyrics, strong tone, excellent beats, not over-produced. This one isn't as much a standout as Phrenology, How I Got Over or Things Fall Apart, but it's still top shelf." Reply

"What you have to love about the later Van Morrison is the way his voice seemed to strengthen with age. He sings powerfully on Avalon of the Heart and the title track. Any nasal quality he ever indulged on albums like Wavelength is real gone here." Reply
