Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. RCA/BMG released this expanded 2 disc edition in 1995. (RCA/BMG Cat#: 74321331632) only in non US countries. One disc included the standard release of Lennox's "Medusa" and the second disc included "Live In Central Park" recorded live at New York's Central Park Summerstage on September 9th, 1995. It is listed as a separate release in Lennox's discography. The Live disc is very essential to create a total picture of Lennox's immense talents. Authenticated on discogs.com
A great collection of covers from one the best voices in pop music today. Ms. Lennox puts her own spin on some classic tunes and pulls it off. I love this album, highly recommended.
