Top 100 Greatest Music Albums by Keatownrodriguez (2020)

So basically, this isn't 1 to 1 with my actual opinions, it's so hard to figure out where goes where! My top 20 are probably accurate but afterwards.... oh well, that just means I'll be changing it pretty frequently, making it more accurate. Also I'll be finding new albums all the time so, check back! 17yr old fool that lives in the middle of nowhere so who knows where my tastes come from

UPDATE I JUST SAW THIS BAND LIVE AND IT WAS THE BEST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE AND MAKES ME APPRECIATE THEIR MUSIC MORE THAN EVER, THIS ALBUM ESPECIALLY IS PERFECTION, Never on earth will I understand the hate for this album on this website. Too long? I'd say there's not a second waisted, hardly two songs sound too similar to get bored, but not too different to get confused. Opening with a somber but short track, then jumping right into the most energetic song on the records is just awesome every time. Then the rest of the album is just golden songs after the other. My favorites all being in the same area (Love Me, UGH! and If I Beleive You) Now I can see people saying this album is nothing new or ground breaking, but I feel like these guys are speaking to and for a genration, MY generation. I relate with so much of what they're saying and the sounds feel so at home with me. Not to say they should be written off as a band just for young kids, just listen to If I beleive you and tell me if you don't at least some what enjoy the lyricism and gospel influences that cover such a broad spectrum.
AAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!! Every song here tells a story of growing up and finding yourself, it's what would happen if a feel good 80's movie was turned into a modern pop-rock masterpiece

This is the first album I fell in love with, it was an album that I knew nothing about (aside from Smells Like Teen Spirit) and I decided to give it a listen, in my mind this is MY album just because no one else I knew was into it (I was a middle schooler in Idaho so no one I knew at the time really listened to anything outside of country, hair metal, or garbage mainstream music) every song hit me on such a personal level during a very depressing part of my life, the horrors of 7th grade. This album not only made me love Nirvana, it made me love music and realize how much it could help me in my life.

This is how you tell a story through music, each song stands on its own as a short story but put together tell a tale of death and sickness that gets me emotional every single time. Actually I'm pretty sure that this album houses the best song of all time in Famous Last Words. That song perfectly encapsulates what every song on this album has to some degree. A message of hope through grief accompanied by one melodic gem after the next

Well this album is basically the same story that Nevermind was, but I heard this one second so it doesn't hold as high a place in my heart as that one does, but honestly songs like Dumb, Frances Farmer and All Apologies hit closer to home than anything on Nevermind, so it's incredibly close, but this is my second favorite Nirvana album.

Not only is the album alone fantastic with tons of variety and heartfelt lyrics, but I listened to it for the first time along side my best friend; her and I just sat in awe the whole time gushing over every bit and piece that we loved, and that's just such a beautiful memory that I can't help but associate with this album. What a work of perfection

Yo, did he really just do that?! This is exactly what I was hoping for the successor to the phenomenal Flower Boy, it’s more RnB influences which is awesome but it really feels like a new genre, such unique sounds and song structure

Energy, catchy melodies, Patrick's voice, variety, why would any rock enthusiasts not love this, this was the first FOB album I listened to in it's entirety, but I was not planning on liking it. I actually just wanted to listen to I don't Care because my Pep Band was playing it so I listened to it so I'd be able to play it better but then I just listened to the rest on accident, but I wasn't complaining. I had songs like Tiffany Blews, What a Catch and Disloyal Order Of Water Buffalo stuck in my head for months, I really had a sickness where I couldn't listen to anything but this album just because every part of it had infected my being.

Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)

This chart is rated in the top 2% of all charts on BestEverAlbums.com. This chart has a mean average rating of 94.0/100. The trimmed mean (excluding outliers) is 94.7/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 5.9.

Thanks for your rating and comment on my chart. I find yours a very personal chart with some common albums like Illinois or ITCOTCK which I love to see and some interesting emo choices like My Chemical Romance or Death Cab for Cutie. Nirvana too in the top for my liking though. Great job anyways, love to see young people dig in so much music by themselves, I did the same too.

That's a ton of Weezer haha. Blue album and Pinkerton are great. Pretty good list, nice to see a good amount of lesser known stuff because some people only put highly rated albums. Like how much you love Queen. Pink Floyd Obscured by Clouds is underrated. You should check out XTC since you like fun upbeat rock bands like Weezer and such.
