Opening song is outstanding, next few are pretty good and then it gets progressively worse from there. Still not a bad pop rock album by any means.

Not the most exhilarating album. Lyrics are really bad, it's overproduced I think, songwriting is generic, sounds the same as every Southamerican pop record. I know some people won't agree with this (eg. "be opeen-minded!"), but I just can't see a good side of the record, and the half-nude picture surely doesn't distract me enough to overlook awful music. I didn't mean to sound so harsh, so my apologies if anyone is offended.
All that production gets in the way. Just sing the damn song.

Good pop rock album. Best 10 songs average is 86,7/100 and the album can get good 85/100. Best song is "Whenever, wherever" 95/100, followed by "Underneath your clothes" and "The one" both 90/100 and next "Objection (tango)" 85/100. All other songs good 80/100.

It's Shakira at her rawest in English. However, her eccentric way with words allows her to make great tunes like Whenever Wherever, Underneath Your Clothes, Objection, and Poem To a Horse. And even though she writes some funny lyrics, she makes up for it with operatic vocals and an interesting musical fusion that let's you know it's Shakira.
It's pop, but it was pretty interesting pop for a 12-year-old me.
