Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album has a Bayesian average rating of 72.3/100, a mean average of 71.3/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 72.3/100. The standard deviation for this album is 15.3.

First, congratulations are in order for a band of such a young age bracket writing the songs and producing an album of this caliber. Even though nothing new in sound or style, it's still a fucking good album. I remember when this came out they were labelled as Nirvana in Pyjamas which I felt was a tad unfair. You can hear the grunge influence but it ain't grunge. And if any similarities, it is more like STP, not Nirvana. So there.

I'm usually not an alternative rock fan, justy taste, but this album has some kick to it! Really powerful and borderline metal because of t. Of course the age when they recorded this is just so impressive and gets it extra poisnts from me. Worth a listen for sure. Only negative is a few weak travks particularly thr last track... Still good all together though.

Outside of Tomorrow I had never listened to any songs on this album. I just gave it a spin today and was pretty impressed. I noted through the other comments the age of the band at the time. Seriously you have to give them some props. They aren't knocking off Alice in Chains or Nirvana from my top chart, but this was a pretty impressive album

An average 90's alternative rock/metal album.

I give it a little extra because the band is so young at 15 when they make it, which is impressive.

Carried by the singles Israel's Son and Tomorrow, the rest is ho hum.

Better than Freak Show. Worse than everything else

Good grunge/alternative metal album. Best 10 songs average is 84,5/100 and the album can get good 85/100. It's a very even album, all songs are good 80-85/100. There's no flop, but also no hit.

I don't know how the hell 15-year-old punks could pull off something like this on their first try. Must be that f*cking ozzie sun supercharging everyone down under since birth...

Post-grunge carbon copies. Nice to see kids play so well, but there's nothing original here.

Silverchair became big when I was 10 and at 10/11 I didn't know much about music. I honestly thought Daniel Johns was an Eddie Veddar soundalike and a Kurt Cobain lookalike. Well I grew up and began to appreciate what these boys had created ads 14 year olds. It is amazing and Daniels voice is incredible and almost has an old time blues/rock n roll feel to it. To be honest Frogstomp is an indicator of greater things to come and unbeknownst to the world Daniel Johns was a budding musical genius

It's incredible that this came from three 15 year olds. It's certainly not very original but it's a great example of 90's post grunge.
