Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album has a Bayesian average rating of 64.7/100, a mean average of 64.0/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 64.5/100. The standard deviation for this album is 18.8.

Not a great album HOWEVER: Some people want their favorite bands to release the same album over and over again with little changes. I respect this album, I respect bands that try a differet sound.

Sure, Metallica went in a new direction for the worse, but this wasn't bad. I'd actually say this and Reload are really good albums. They just don't hold a candle to Metallica's earlier stuff, even the Black Album.

Pensei que era bem pior, grata surpresa!! Apesar de ser um pouco desordenado, de apostar em ciosas variáveis, os acertos são melhores do que os erros.

This is the moment Metallica became more mainstream and destroyed their loyal fan base. I on the other hand enjoyed the new sound. Rating (82.5)

After the great success of the Black Album, fans were expecting a return to Thrash Metal and Metallica did precisely the opposite, they created their album more commercial and near the Hard Rock of the 90s, the result was criticism by the fans.
This part I realize, but it's been more than 20 years and realizing that people still can not understand the excellent songs that are here, it puts me in confusion!
It's not the best Metallica album, it's not a Metal album, but it has great songs and I think that should be the most important.

Oh dear what went wrong here ! A poor album I can't say anything positive about this except the last track is the best.
