Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 62.2/100, a mean average of 61.1/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 61.7/100. The standard deviation for this album is 16.6.

Of course 80's haters are gonna hate this. It's not their best album but it's still good. Tracks 1, 2, 6, 8 and 10 are great.
A poor attempt to stay relevent
Don't really know what they were going for on this thing, not really a single song I like. Easily the worst Stones record i've heard yet.

Not thier best but a few great tracks.

I've always thought this is the worst Stones album

This album could have fared better with better production and some more meat and classic Stones attitude in a few of the songs. It's not dreadful, but it's nothing to get excited about either.
Them crappy 80s sounds.
The songs are not as bad. Undercover and She was hot where pretty good stonesque-classic-rocks. There's some interesting guitar work on Too much blood and the chorus of Tie you up with that free-tempo landings and laidbackness couldn't have been made by anyone besides the Stones.
Still overall sounds as plastic as pretty much every other rock album made during that era.
I think Undercover is yet another underrated stones album. They never seem to get any credit for trying new sounds. This is a much more contemporary record with a really interesting use of percussion, especially on the title track, which I have to admit is the last of the truly great stones tracks. Having said that, there are other standouts such as the hilarious too much blood and the grooving feel on baby. Sure, there's a few stones by numbers but at least half the album is fantastic. There's nothing really awful but it does need a few spins to fully appreciate it.
A forgettable record. It's got the 80's malady, stupid pointless songs with crappy production.

1980s Stones were pretty mediocre. This album is a perfect example of that.
