Boston's Pile have released a terrific album full of energy , venom and deconstructed songs which sits amongst my best albums for 2107
What is a Hairshirt ?
'A hair shirt is a shirt made of rough uncomfortable cloth which some religious people used to wear to punish themselves. ... If you say that someone is wearing a hair shirt, you mean that they are trying to punish themselves to show they are sorry for something they have done'
And it's not the first time this term has appeared in modern rock . The track "Hairshirt" also appears on R.E.M's 1989 album Green , a slow ballad featuring Peter Bucks trademark mandolin
If you get into this album you wont be punishing yourself , trust me you'll be doing yourself a favour
