Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 4% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 76.4/100, a mean average of 77.4/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 77.4/100. The standard deviation for this album is 12.7.

Absolutely stoked to discover this ambient electronic classic. It’s one of those albums that just sets the mood.
I must say that after exploring a lot more glitch and ambient music this feels much stronger. Very meditative. This guy had certainly listened to Oval before making this record. It feels like a dub-techno inspired take on 94diskont (yes thats the only Oval album I've listened to yet, I'm a fake fan. But real enough to hear the very palpable influence)
A very pleasant glitchy experience. I understand the concern about the length of the tracks, but it's a record with ambient overtones that you luxuriate in really. similarly to a brian eno record that goes on for quite a long time with little variation, one just has to let "loop-finding-jazz-records" wash over them. would make a nice double act with "endless summer" by fennesz
Warm and cosy glitch record, its lengths don't really bother me because it is *ambient* techno after all. not much has to go on and not much does, one just has to luxuriate in what does occur and you'll find there's some great work here.
I think this album would be far more interesting if it was a bunch of 1-2 minute tracks of this variety. But there's just not enough happening here to warrant 5 to 7 minutes per song
