Incredibly talented and accomplished guitarist who also managed to crank out a lot of very mundane music along with the classics. (Edited)

Decurso has it right. His reputation as a performer and player cause us to overestimate his abilities as a songwriter. Most of the time, he'd be better off sticking to covers. (Edited)
