Damn near perfect post-punk. For me, one of the very best albums of 1980.
Criminally underrated. This album sits with the top post punk releases of the beginning of the 80s. (Edited)
Very good post-punkband. IMHO this first album is better than From the Lion's Mouth. Don't understand that "I can't escape myself" never was a hit, it should have been. (Edited)
Great album back in the day, still sounds great! Adrian Borland massive loss!!
Decent Joy Division inspired yet more danceable post-punk that likely served as the template for the Killers' Hot fuzz & Franz Ferdinand's s/t albums. Unfortunately, it's rather inconsistent and is most enjoyable on the first couple of spins.
