"This is a reasonable album – but… one must get past the over-earnest singing and arrangements. A bit like latter day Elbow, everything comes off as a little forced and the record suffers because of it. Stronger at the start than the finish. Rating: Pleasing Best track: Chasing Cars"  Reply

"FOLK ROCK FOR MARSHALL STACKS Stormcock stands alone. No other folk rock album rocks quite as hard as Stormcock. Any of these four songs could pop up on the classic rock radio station of my youth, and I would never even batted an eye. It is totally of its time (i.e. early 70s) - epic and grandios..."  [+]  Reply

"Holy shit! I think this might be the best Outkast record. And of course it has to be there debut. Now I do love the hell out of Atliens as well as Speakerboxxx/The Love Below. But this is something else. Putting ATL on the map as well as feeling like a movie where the outsiders ventured in Atlanta."  Reply

"This was the album that got me into music. I found an old scrathed cd of it in the garage one day. For some reason I decided to put it in a cd player even though I was never really in to listening to music... Then the whole album electrified me. Megadeth really nailed this one. They took a more c..."  [+]  Reply

"'56:b ...then this shit is X! “Did you hear me scream?” – Black Francis I LOVE Elvis. I’m not coming for his crown. Not ever. BUT, Johnny Burnette and his gang of delinquents positively destroys Elvis’ debut LP (and anything else Elvis ever put out.) If the big news back in 1956 was that Elvis wa..."  [+]  Reply

"This record is just wonderful. A very unique brand of rap with so many phenomenal twists of phrase. The accompanying music is equally as engaging, the drums not the least of which. I think it's fair to draw some comparisons to To Pimp A Butterfly, especially musically although nothing is contrive..."  [+]  Reply

"It's so richly dense in texture and sound that it is quite mesmerizing. The vocals at times feel a bit too samey but there is enough variety in the melodies that it does not take much away from the experience."  Reply

"This album makes Art Angels look like an outlier in her discography cuz this feels like a closer sonic successor to Visions. It pulls back on a lot of the bombast of Art Angels, for better or worse, but its not necessarily a decline in quality. But that also makes it easier to explore, fall in lo..."  [+]  Reply

"Opeth has always been a mix of Mikael Åkerfeldt's two musical obsessions: metal and prog rock. To my ear, their catalogue starts more metal and trends more prog, with this album being the perfect midway point. I consider this their best album in that it represents such a nice blend of both styles..."  [+]  Reply
