'I Ran' and 'Space Age Love Song' are two of the best tracks of the 80s, which the rest of the album can't live with, but what could. Still a great debut album, although I marginally prefer 1983's 'Listen' and many of the orchestral versions on the 'Ascension' album.

The atmosphere on this album is potent, in part due to the synergy between each instrument and their respective players. I feel bad for these guys, they're constantly written off as the guys in the 80s with the goofy haircuts.
A Flock of Seagulls were clever musicians who produced some timeless classic eighties songs. One of the differences with Flock of Seagulls to many of the eighties new wave synth bands was their use of a real drummer rather than opting for Roland TR808 or Linn Drum. It is the driving and interesting rhythm section which I love about Flock of Seagulls. Not a weak track on the album and great guitar work on every track to complement the rhythm section and synth washes. My favourite track is d.n.a
