After an amazing run of albums in the 1970s,
Willie Nelson's 1980s material was generally disappointing.
"Me and Paul" was an exception. Along with the classic title track, Nelson contributed sentimental that he penned himself, along with a few excellent tracks from the pen of Billie Joe Shaver, the most outlaw of all the Nashville outlaw songwriters.
