Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album has a Bayesian average rating of 64.2/100, a mean average of 63.3/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 63.3/100. The standard deviation for this album is 18.1.

By 1986, there was little left of the magic and what characterized the sound of ELO. The grandiose productions were over, strings and other elements from classical music were gone, now they just sounded like any other mediocre 80's soft rock band. All the songs are fairly anonymous, the only one that slightly stands out is "Calling America", but neither that one is good enough to deserve a place on an ELO Greatest Hits record.

Band was running on fumes at this point. Lynne was distracted with Traveling Wilburys and other production duties. A dismal end to a tremendous group.

The worst album product from Lynne. Seems disconnected from his genius. Didn't work haven't listed to it since first listen in 86 ish. Avoid.

Underrated ELO album, may be not as good as the classical ELO era, but still a good simple album.

Very weak ELO-album, but I bought the CD in 86, the re-release in the 00s and in 2014 the LP second hand!
I'm paranoid ?
Heaven only knows!

Straight no nonsense catchy pop/rock. A brilliant formula. A simplistic but wonderful end to the career of the second greatest band ever.
