Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some artists can have several thousand ratings)
This artist is rated in the top 2% of all artists on BestEverAlbums.com. This artist has a Bayesian average rating of 81.9/100, a mean average of 80.4/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 82.4/100. The standard deviation for this artist is 16.3.

Only heard few of their songs but this is probably one the most underrated bands I've heard
Such an excellent band. I do find it strange how their first 5 records (which are almost every fan's favourites) are so low. Well, there's nothing wrong with Out Of The Blue and A New World Record, but Discovery and Time are arguably second tier ELO albums...
It's a travesty how underrated this band are on this site.
I find it impossible to skip any song from any album from On the Third Day through Time.
Owned the Beatles influence. Jeff Lynne is one of the most talented musicians ever, and is still making music. Great band.
I discovered ELO in the late 70s. My first album was of course "out of the blue". I bought the disc because of the cover. The music I did not like at first very much. Hear after several had the ELO-virus detected in me....
Time is not only the best work from them... Is the best album of all TIME! listen complete conscientiously...\r\n \r\nhttp://www.electriclightorchestradiscography.com/2007/09/electric-light-orchestra-time-1981.html

Unique band with a unique sound. Hard to find fault with their catchy pop style. Particularly like Standin' in the rain.
