A solid debut featuring some great tracks like Red Morning Light, Molly's Chambers and Joe's Head. Their later albums exceeded this one but it's a very easy listen with no weak tracks.
Good bit of Alt Rock with a country twang. Nice mix of mainly up tempo tracks with a hoe down feel to them. Along with a few slower bluesy tunes. Nice length album. Any longer and it would start to grate a bit. Best tracks for me: 'Molly's Chambers' & 'Holy Roller Novocaine'

Kings of Leon at their best.
It was long hair, beards and raw rock n roll back then.
Shame they've now turned into Bon Jovi

Energetic and not overly produced. Better than anticipated.
Even though it's their debut I don't think they ever reached the heights of this one. Genius takes you for a ride

Joe's Head is one of the best kings of leon songs.
Overrated album along with Aha. It is southern garage rock. The vocals are unique and the raw weirdness at times make them sound original to start. So they get some points there.
I have no idea why KOL fans pick the first 2 albums as favorites. They each have a couple of highlights but other than that pretty average. There excellence begins at Because of the Times, peaks at Only by the Night.
Then they become arena rocks Maroon 5. Soul-less and singles driven
