When artists add orchestrated sounds (brass, strings, etc...) to their music, they often end up sounding bloated; going for bombast over quality. Not in this case - this is a great late career album for Matt Good - he uses the new sounds subtly, to great effect.

Matt Good is probably at the tail end of his creativity at this point (although you may have dismissed him prematurely before) but this is a worthwhile record. It is definitely listenable from start to finish, which is more than you can say about many of his contemporaries.
