ugly casanova was the stepping stone between the masterful moon & antarctica and good news for people who love bad news. in spite of its obscurity, i think it stands shoulder-to-shoulder with those records. it's certainly not the post-punk rock of the moon & antarctica, but the melancholia of it all is quite lovely and familiarly isaac brock. it's a pity this side project didn't see much light beyond this album.
