I’ve no doubt the Charlatans have made the odd bad album. However, this isn’t one of them.. This albums just brilliant! (Edited)
Feels like it knows what it is doing and is at ease with itself. Up At The Lake and Try Again Today are unashamedly catchy and both work well for me. Feels pristine at times and I can imagine a lot of mistakes were corrected. Does it feel clinical because of this? Maybe. Still a band putting in the effort though. It is good for what it is worth. Also, thank you Tim Burgess for writing a song for me! 'Loving You Is Easy' really made my day! Great stuff! Toodles!
